In July 1979, the Association of Fisheries Engineer / DF held the first Brazilian Congress of Fisheries Engineering – CONBEP, which took place in the city of Brasília in the Federal District. From then on, the congress was held every two years without interruption and was supported by several public and private companies in addition to higher education institutions, unions and national entities.
